COPROMEC Plunger Tip-Ring-Support Pin

COPROMEC Plunger Tip

Copromec plunger tips are made of tempered and nitrided steel in order to guarantee a greater resistance to the impact of the alloy and the thermal shocks to which they are subjected.

On the front part of the plunger tip there are channels or holes in order to let the alloy flow and solidify under the copper ring, ensuring a costant seal between shot sleeve and ring. The front face of the plunger tip is supported by the support pin in order to provide better injection shocks.

In addition to the standard plunger tips, we recommend different plunger types according to the conditions of use and customer-specific demands.

  • Steel plunger tip with one or two rings, which is our standard model
  • Plunger tip developed for three-plate molds and to guarantee that the runner biscuit can always be released from the mold.
  • Plunger tip compatible with automatic lubrication system
  • Plunger tip with special ring for powerful vacuum system
  • With the same performance, the plunger tip saves the biscuit volume and metal.
  • To take advantage of the thermal conductivity of copper, a copper insert plunger in the head for better cooling.

By combining the unique properties of copper and steel, we have designed a high performance and unique product.

COPROMEC RING

Why should you use COPROMEC Ring?

Thanks to the expansion of the copper rings, the shot sleeve is perfectly sealed, The effectiveness of 3rd phase is increasing. COPROMEC Ring plunger tip systems provide a unique dip vacuum experience even below 20 mBar with the double ring plunger tip system specially produced for deep vacuum level.

How do I choose a Ring ?

Which of the COPROMEC rings to choose is determined in accordance with the needs of your shot system and included in your process.

For example, for COPROMEC Lite series plunger tip diameters of 90 mm and less, a single-ring system will be proposed, and for large diameter COPROMEC Standard series plunger tips, a two-ring system will be recommended to support the shot rod.

COPROMEC Support pin

With a guarantee of 200,000 shots, the uniquely designed COPROMEC support pin provides more efficient cooling. It has been developed to provide convenience to all pressure die casters who want to achieve greater goals in terms of quality, energy efficiency and cost advantage.

  • The Copromec support pin is made of high-strength annealed steel.
  • It connects the plunger tip to the shot rod and supports the front face of the plunger tip thanks to its special structure.
  • Holes and channels in its body provide effective cooling.
  • The design of the support pin’s cooling circuit ensures efficient cooling even at very high temperatures.
  • It is fixed to the plunger tip with its screw structure. (Additional locking support mechanism is also available.)

COPROMEC SHOT ROD

The COPROMEC shot rod is produced from high-strength annealed steel. There is an inlet and an outlet hole for the cooling water on the shot rod, whose dimensions and features are tailored and precisely machined. The water distributor is made of high quality stainless steel and is located in the middle hole of the shot rod. Its purpose is to take the water from the beginning of the shot rod and carry it to the tip of the plunger to cool the plunger tip.

The COPROMEC shot rod is one of the most important elements of COPROMEC’s patented and industry-leading lubrication system. The shot rod carries the oil up to the front of the plunger tip, thanks to the oil system integrated in its structure. This unique design is designed to extend the life of all shot elements.
